The Hangover…
June 8, 2009
Never before have I wanted a second viewing of something quite as miserable as a hangover. However this movie was the funniest Ive seen this year. Yup thats right, another comedy finally ousted “I love you, man” as the best of the year.
I have to say though, Im pretty surprised… pleasantly of course. I didnt expect this to be such a solid comedy, seeing as its not headlined by any top comedy actors. But I really think this is what worked best for it, I feel Im getting tired of seeing the same group of guys in every comedy I see in the last 3 years, Ive honestly had enough of Seth Rogen for a while now.
So here are 5 reasons to go see “The Hangover”:
5. The hotel suite aftermath, pay attention to everything around the characters in the hotel room. The production designers did a great job setting this scene up lots of interesting things in the background
4. The Tiger… Im trying to avoid spoilers here so just wait for it.
3. Ed Helms, I love this guy in the office and he has some great moments throughout this movie.
2. The slide show during the credits, has to be one of the funniest parts of the movie and is completely believeable.
and #1. Zach Galifianakis – This guy is amazing, he basically steals every scene. I cant remember the last movie of his Ive seen (Im thinking ‘Out Cold’) but I do hope to see more of him.
So those are my thoughts, aparently a lot of others agreed with me seeing as The Hangover grossed an amazing 43.3 mill only .9 mill behind Pixar’s Up which I think is pretty impressive.
Zach and Miri?…

A lot of hububaloo is going around on the net recently about the upcoming Kevin Smith directed comedy about two broke friends who decide to make a Porno to pay the bills. It stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.
Now Im starting to think that the MPAA is full of a large contingent of very “special” people. A lot of their complaints about the film is that it contains some “Gratuitous Sexual Content” which I cant support or deny sinice I havent seen the movie. However one thing I can come down on them for is their ban of this poster from US theaters…
Now honestly… is this poster really suggestive enough that your five year old while walking past it is going to be irrevocably damaged by its imagery? Im thinking probably not, now I know that the purpose of the MPAA isnt only to protect children, but this poster is subtle and tasteful in its execution.
So I will reserve my judgement of the MPAA’s hububaloo over the content of this film, but I certainly can say that this is just a joke, the only thing they are going to achieve is to drum up more publicity for the upcoming October 31 release of this film.
The good news however is that this poster will be released in Canadian theaters… so those of us fortunate enough to live in Canada will have the chance to enjoy it!
