I came accross an article about how Pixar helped to satisfy a dieing childs last wish very recently.

I think this is just a great example of how much Pixar cares and how they arent just another movie studio but a great member of their community.

Leave me a comment I would like to know what others think of this!

So I came accross this article on one of my favorite funny sites www.cracked.com

I couldnt help but laugh my ass off as they go through this experiment with the Sims 3. Its quite entertaining and I would recommend checking it out.

The Hangover…

June 8, 2009

Never before have I wanted a second viewing of something quite as miserable as a hangover. However this movie was the funniest Ive seen this year. Yup thats right, another comedy finally ousted “I love you, man” as the best of the year.

I have to say though, Im pretty surprised… pleasantly of course. I didnt expect this to be such a solid comedy, seeing as its not headlined by any top comedy actors. But I really think this is what worked best for it, I feel Im getting tired of seeing the same group of guys in every comedy I see in the last 3 years, Ive honestly had enough of Seth Rogen for a while now.

So here are 5 reasons to go see “The Hangover”:

5. The hotel suite aftermath, pay attention to everything around the characters in the hotel room. The production designers did a great job setting this scene up lots of interesting things in the background

4. The Tiger… Im trying to avoid spoilers here  so just wait for it.

3. Ed Helms, I love this guy in the office and he has some great moments throughout this movie.

2. The slide show during the credits, has to be one of the funniest parts of the movie and is completely believeable.

and #1.  Zach Galifianakis – This guy is amazing, he basically steals every scene. I cant remember the last movie of his Ive seen (Im thinking ‘Out Cold’) but I do hope to see more of him.

So those are my thoughts, aparently a lot of others agreed with me seeing as The Hangover grossed an amazing 43.3 mill only .9 mill behind Pixar’s Up which I think is pretty impressive.

Zach and Miri?…

September 3, 2008

A lot of hububaloo is going around on the net recently about the upcoming Kevin Smith directed comedy about two broke friends who decide to make a Porno to pay the bills. It stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.

Now Im starting to think that the MPAA is full of a large contingent of very “special” people. A lot of their complaints about the film is that it contains some “Gratuitous Sexual Content” which I cant support or deny sinice I havent seen the movie. However one thing I can come down on them for is their ban of this poster from US theaters…

US Banned Poster

US Banned Poster

Now honestly… is this poster really suggestive enough that your five year old while walking past it is going to be irrevocably damaged by its imagery? Im thinking probably not, now I know that the purpose of the MPAA isnt only to protect children, but this poster is subtle and tasteful in its execution.

So I will reserve my judgement of the MPAA’s hububaloo over the content of this film, but I certainly can say that this is just a joke, the only thing they are going to achieve is to drum up more publicity for the upcoming October 31 release of this film.

The good news however is that this poster will be released in Canadian theaters… so those of us fortunate enough to live in Canada will have the chance to enjoy it!

Another summer goes…

September 2, 2008

Well thats it, Summer in my books is officially over… its a terrible feeling when you think about the fact that harsh Canadian winter is about to hit us like a ton of bricks. So here we go, bring on the 8 months of indecisive winter. a lot of people complain about global warming but I think that we Canadians are reaping the benefits, with winter temperatures on the rise here we seem to be spending less of our days shoveling 6″ of snow from the driveway four times a day!

So I figured that since Summer was over it might be time to review all that has happened to me over the past 4 months.

May - May was a great month to kick off the Summer, I had booked a trip to Mexico with 3 of my friends and my Girlfriend. We had a blast just outside of Puerto Vallarta. We drank, we smoked cigars, and enjoyed some beautiful Mexican weather. We also were priveledged enough to be there during Cinqo De mayo (spelling?) which was interesting when 900 locals invaded our resort for an all night party.

June - in June we went on sadly our one and only camping trip of the summer. We headed out to Ghost lake, a small resivoir about an hour away. We spent most of our time drinking and partying, and we were introduced to the game of Beers-bee a Frisbee based drinking game. The second day we were there we took a walk down to a bridge that crossed the resevoir to do some bridge jumping, I think we’ll be going back to do that again next summer!

Also in June my brother and I started our hunt for a house. This was quite the experience for both of us, trying to find something in our price range that we could both live in happily. Which is quite a feet in this city where houses are terribly high priced.

July - In July we found and purchased our new house. its a bi-level in Bridlewood with 3 bedrooms and an amazing kitchen. The house purchase was great and would sadly overshadow some very exciting events to come.

in mid July I headed out to go houseboating in BC with a huge group of my friends. It was one hell of a time, drinking and partying for 3 days on a boat in the sun… you cant ask for much more than that. I think my favorite part of this trip was parking the boat in the middle of the lake and pulling out Matts Airplane raft and launching ourselves off the waterslide onto it. We made this into a mini sport until Dave popped it haha.

August - August was the month of change for me. I moved into my new house with my brother and his girlfriend, it was an interesting move. Things went great though everything got in quickly and we got unpacked in an astonishing 3 days!  The rest of the month was a blur though, we did a lot of partying at the new house. Especially on the night of the housewarming when we had a large group of our closest friends and family at the new place.

So in review I guess that was my summer. It was quite a different summer for me this year compared to last year when me and my buddies spent 4 days in Vegas which was the high point of my year! So what to look forward to this year… Ill touch on that in my next post!

My First Post

August 29, 2008

Hello,

This is my first post on my Blog. This blog started as a reasearch project for a website Im developing at work, but as I play with the customization that Word Press offers Im more and more intrigued to keep this blog for my own personal use.

So hopefully Ill be able to update this regularly, I will also be playing around with the design of the page to try and figure out some interesting ways to customize my Word Press page.
